Where: Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department

When: April 17, 2012

What: While at the station to renew his licenses, Decosta runs into Terri who waits for a warrant to be delivered.

There's a sense of excitement about the station, various members of the detective squad gearing up and talking with one another. Terri seems to be the center of it, oddly enough. "Vice should be here eventually, and once they are, we'll head over to serve the warrant." Rumors are the warrant's to check out a suspect on the meter maid murder that happened on the trip a week or so ago.

Decosta enters the police department clearly scoping out the place as he enters, he bypasses the people that are waiting to be processed. He does notice the increased atmosphere that seems to be building. He looks at the squad members as they gear up. He looks at them with a keen eye noticing the details of what they are doing. He continues towards the front desk.

No doubt that the cop at the front desk will notice Decosta in time, probably not happy to be left behind as others prepared to head out for some 'fun'. The aging male there soon ask, "How can I help you, sir?" At least he's still manages to be polite! Terri laughs at something said before she glances towards the desk, always seeming somewhat alert to things going on in the station.

Decosta nods, looking at the clerk behind the desk. He then looks at the guy and replies with, "License, renewal, firearm". He says no more and no less. His eyes scan the station again locking briefly on Terri before turning his attention back to the clerk.

The clerk nods, and turns, fetching out paperwork from a labeled box. "Here you go. You'll need these filled out and.." Whatever else needs to be filled out, signed, or notarized. "You should get it back in 4-6 weeks." Or shorter. As his gaze locks with Terri, the detective studies him, likely trying to figure out if she's seen him before or not. AS he turns away, she turns back to the group before excusing herself and heads for the foyer, likely heading to another area or maybe even the bathroom.

Decosta takes the form and looks it over before folding it away and tucking it into his jean pocket. He looks at the group before dusting himself down and heads towards the foyer where the just disappeared Terri has gone.

Terri has paused there, giving an older woman directions to where she needs to go. "You're welcome. ma'am." The older woman pats her arm and toddles off to go pay her speeding ticket. Who would know the old lady has a lead foot! Laughing quietly to herself, Terri shakes her head, and turns, almost in time to bump into Decosta then, "Sorry, sir."

Decosta stops just short of knocking Terri over, he holds up his hand, "It's ok, you seem like you're in a rush in there" as he thumbs the guys in there getting ready. "You planning something big?" he asks.

"I am sorry. " Terri answers, laughing lightly again. When questioned, she offers a wry smile, "Not at liberty to say, sorry." But one can only make assumptions that something is happening. "Can I help you with anything, sir?" She does ask out of politeness, of course.

Decosta nods, "Understood, although", he turns to point out the tall skinny guy in the squad. "He doesn't look too focused, seems a big gung ho". He then points to the short guy chewing gum, "Get him to spit it out, things like that can cause problems in a heartbeat". He then turns back to Terri, "Hope it goes well". He then continues, "Came to renew concealed gun license".

Glancing towards the group as such things are pointed out, Terri takes the observations in stride, a slow nod offered in turn. "Thank you." Back to him, she ahs, "You've got a good eye with things.. Mr.." She pauses, then offers her hand, "Detective Terri Willett."

Decosta takes the hand and gives it a shake, it's a nice and firm handshake, "Pleasure Detective Willett, name's Decosta". He has an english accent, east london flavour. He continues as he stands in front of Terri, his posture of one that has a hint of someone trained to be quick and responsive. He replies, "It's the little details that matter on operations".

"A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Decosta." Terri offers, taking note of the accent, "New to Vegas?" Curiosity shown, though she does nod, "They do, yes. Sometimes a great deal depending on what is going on."

Decosta shakes his head as he looks at Terri noting her uniform and features, "I've been here a while, but just getting used to the area". He indicates the outside, "I have to say that Las Vegas is very unique and has its own merits". He hmmms, "I say that you're a native of this place?"

"It's certainly unique, yes. With it's own merits and flaws, but.." Terri offers a slight shrug, "That can be said about any place, really." When it's noted that she's a native, she chuckles and nods, "I am, yeah. Born and raised here. " There's a quick glance back towards the detective area, just to make sure they aren't waiting for her or anything.

Decosta looks back at the group, "Am I keeping you? I don't want to compromise your police work". He moves out of the way to let her back into the main station area.

"We're waiting in a few things, in truth." Terri offers, chuckling as she turns back, "But I should likely get back soon. It was nice to meet you though, Mr. Decosta. I hope you enjoy Las Vegas?"

Decosta nods as he takes out a card that reads 'Security Services for Hire'. It has his name on it and his number. "It was nice to meet you, it be good to met outside of work, coffee maybe".

Terri actually seems surprised by the last, his card taken in hand and after a glance, tucks it into her pocket for the moment. "Perhaps. I keep strange hours at the best of times." Patting her pockets, she soon fishes out one of her own cards and hands it over to him, "In case you ever need to call the police.. or something."

Decosta smiles, a rarity but it is one none the less, "Strange hours are fine, very used to it in my line of work". He takes her card and pockets it, "I'll be sure to ask for you if I do call the police". He gives her a smile. He then adds, "Be careful and make sure your exits are covered".

"I gather that. Security specialist. Never a boring night for you either, hmm?" Terri does offer, nodding though at the last, she turns serious, "Always do." If there is anything to be said, she's not one of those soft detectives, but one who seems quite in shape and alert. "Take care out there, Mr. Decosta. Las Vegas can be a strange place, even to us natives."

Decosta nods and gives her a salute, nothing formal but enough to know that he respects her and what she does for the city. He heads out.
