FC'S

FC is short for Feature Character. A Feature Character tends to be an individual from the show or an individual with a significant part in the story that we will be and are communally creating. FC's are a step away from OC's (Original Characters) and toward NPC's, in that players with FC's are expected to be active, help run plots in which their characters are involved, and be an example as to how players should behave. Your focus, with an FC, needs to be on story and creating and pursuing RP with the grid. We expect people with FCs to be active in RP outside of their normal RP circle.

FC's are not a right, they are a privilege. As such, you must earn them, and behave to keep them. We don't believe that that is too much to ask. Rules and guidelines for FC's are as follows:

  • You must have at least 1 OC and have been active for a total of 3 months before you can apply for an FC from our list of adoptable FC's. This is non-negotiable. Please don't ask.
  • The four week waiting period between alts applies to FC applications as well.
  • If you have an Advanced OC, you cannot apply for an Advanced FC. FC's count towards your Advanced count and maximum alt count.
  • After you hit +apply but before you are approved for the FC position of choice, you will be asked to do a trial scene. An audition if you will. This is for your benefit, that of other players and for our benefit. Do you really want a Hiro that isn't anywhere remotely like the TV shows and is instead a broody little Asian who sits in his apartment all day playing video games? Neither do we. That's not the Hiro we all know and love.
    • As a side note on the apping process for FCs, it will go as follows: You hit +apply and we go through the character application as normal. Once we have a character that is good enough to be approved, then we will schedule an audition scene. After this scene, we'll give you notes and if necessary, will schedule a second audition for a week after the first. We know auditions can be nerve wrecking and having everything ride on that one moment is pretty intense. So, you'll have a second chance, if it's needed, to get it right.
  • If you are approved, you will be expected to RP with the character and be active. Active is defined as at least one scene every 2 weeks. If you are going to be absent for two weeks, or unable to access a computer for that period of time, please contact staff with a heads up. There is a difference between being unable to play for two weeks, and being unwilling to.
  • If you are flagged as inactive, an @mail will be sent to you, as well as an email to whatever address you have left us during the approval process. If you are uncommunicative for 7 days after the @mail and email has been sent, the character's password will be changed and returned to the adoptable FC pool. (See Definition of Active)
  • If you return and the FC you had has not been adopted and you wish to try and resume your former position, please contact staff so that we may discuss it.
  • If you should choose to drop the FC position for whatever reason, it will be 3 months before you can apply for a new FC position.
  • If an FC is removed from you for just cause or for violations of game rules and agreements, you cannot apply for a new FC.
  • If you should choose an FC who has been played by a player previously, you are expected to take the FC's history and relationships, warts and all. Continuity is key, and they are very much a part of the character. If you have questions or concerns regarding this, it is hoped that you will contact staff.
  • Following that, as the player of an FC, you are expected to keep all logs of your FC in an easy-to-find location, both so the Wizards can find them and any future players of either that FC or an FC with close ties. (such as family members, close friends, etc.)
